Media Kits Documentation

This documentation contains guides and how-tos for managing your Media Kits website.

Requirements

Before we begin, ensure that you have met the System Requirements in order for Media Kits to operate correctly. You may find the most basic requirements for Media Kits below:

PHP Requirements

JLex Helpful runs on PHP and it requires PHP to exist on the site.

  • 5.3+ and above.
  • GD Library. In order to manipulate images that are uploaded on the site.

PHP Settings

Minimum version: 5.3.x

Available Extensions

Joomla! Article, K2 and Virtuemart.

Checking System Requirements

You may review these requirements from the management system: System → System Information → PHP Settings

You can also create a very simple PHP script and include the codes below in your php file.

Recommended Hosting Providers

We have ran a couple of tests on these hosting providers and we recommend them because we've ran a couple of tests on them and they seem to be pretty good at it. (At your own risk)

  • SiteGround - Optimized to run on Joomla! sites.
  • Rackspace - Pretty good support and fast.

Installation

  1. Sign in to your account and download latest version of Media Kits.
  2. Access to Extension manager ⇒ Select Install tab
  3. Choose file that you downloaded and install it.
  4. Joomla! CMS will notify installation result. Make sure component is installed successfully.
  5. Enable above plugin.
  6. Go to Media Manager and see result.

Transfer images

Media Kits for Joomla, transfer image remote

Fill your list URLs that you want to transfer, then click Check and add images. The system will filter available URL and add to List available URL box. Click button Transfer Files to task. When task completed, window(frame) will auto-refresh.

By default, path to save image be got from current folder. And you can change it. Also you can put path to save for each image


Editing image

Media Kits contain 5 tools: Rename, Resize, Crop, Watermark and Create a new file. The first, you must select images that you want edit by tick to checkbox of image.

After editing completed, click Make change to save. If you don't select Create a new file, new image will replace old file. Else, Media Kits will create a new file with name is random or text of rename box. The system will refresh when all image completely process.


Watermark

The first, you need setting for watermark. Go to setting parameters of this plugin and select Watermark tab:
